Abstract

I’ve seen the issue of representation brought up in a number of forums. I am relieved to see serious efforts to increase awareness, help some limited portions of the community in the short to medium term, and work to create long-term sustaining focus on this problem. On the other hand, even with this increased focus and these numerous initiatives across the broad computer science and engineering communities, security and privacy research continues to have some of the lowest representation of women and underrepresented minorities.
