Abstract

In our approach to identifying weak ties a crucial step is the detection of communities; each user (vertex) has to be assigned to at least one community. Community detection in networks is a challenging computational problem [5] and several research efforts have been recently devoted to unveiling the community structure of complex networks and evaluating the performance of community detection algorithms [8, 7, 1]. A comprehensive survey of community detection methods and algorithms can be found in [5].
