Experimental Demonstration of an Optical Half-Adder of Two 4-PSK, 10-Gbit/s Channels using Nonlinear Wave Mixing
Abstract
An optical half-adder of two 4-PSK channels using nonlinear wave mixing is demonstrated. The two phase-encoded 5-Gbaud outputs (i.e., Carry and Sum) are generated with optical signal-to-noise ratio penalties of <5dB at the BER of 3.8e-3.
